I just finished re-reading his autobiography. He is one of the most outspoken rock stars…good or bad he lets you know what he thinks.
I started reading Townshend’s memoir, „Who I Am,“ with modest expectations. It didn’t meet them. I couldn’t finish the book. But that’s Ok. What matters to me about Pete Townshend is his music. I could get what’s missing from „Who I Am“ – for example, an account of the mod subculture – from other sources. But I can’t get Pete Townshend’s music from anyone other than Pete himself.
The book I would like to find again…is Dave Marsh’s „Before I Get Old“. I read it back in the 80s.
