Es hat viele Gruppen von Jugendlichen gegeben die nur Musik hören wollten und die den Schlägereien, die es häufig gab, aus dem Weg gingen. Rauschgift, das ging gar nicht! Saufen, ja das schon, hat dazu gehört.

The Beatles always maintained that Hamburg is where they learned their „chops“ and became performers. Coming into contact with Gene Vincent and Little Richard helped as well!
That’s right! The Beatles made also a set of recordings in Hamburg under the name The Beat Brothers with a man by the name Tony Sheridan. The group served as Sheridan’s backing band, accompanying him on numbers like „My Bonnie“ and „Ain’t She Sweet“. It’s a Tony Sheridan album featuring The Beatles – pre-Ringo, of course.
